Description
This painting of the red ginger, or pink cone ginger, which is seen all over the Big Island of Hawaii. The bright red of the stalks and dark greens of the leaves create a beautiful contrast. There are also so many fine details, from the veins of the leaves to each of the red bracts. It took a lot of concentration, focus and persistence, but that is what I love about painting with watercolors.
